Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.

Prov. 3: 5-6

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. I will be found by you, and will bring you back from captivity. I will gather you from all the nations, and places where I have banished you, and will bring you back to the place from which I carried you into exile,” declares the Lord.
        Jer. 29: 11-14

My name is Michael, and I am actually K0MGB now. At least that is my amateur radio call sign. I have a General class license.  This page was created at a when I had an older call sign.  That has since changed, but I still use the old call sign kc5kdw for many things.

In 2006, I was remarried to Jennifer Mae North.  Since that time we have had 2 boys.  Nathaniel was born on January 19, 2009.  Sean was born on May21, 2011.  Through a  previous marriage, I have two  other wonderful children who are now in college.  Wesley was born April 30, 1988.  He is now attending Dakota State University in Madison, South Dakota.  His field of studies are Forensics and Physical Science.  My only daughter is Mikara. She was born on April 12, 1991. She is currently attending the University of Northern Iowa.  Her field of studies are English and a minor in Creative Writing. Yes, I started over again.  You can see their pictures in my Photo Gallery.

We are currently living in a small town in Northwest Iowa called George.  It is a town of about 1000 people.   We attend  church at Tabernacle Baptist Church here in George.  I got an Associates degree in Applications Programming at Dakota State University in Madison, South Dakota.  I graduated in 2002, after going back to school again late in life.   A big step forward, but it was well woth it.  I have a thirst for knowledge.  I often tell people that if one quits leaning, that there isn't much more purpose in life any longer.  I do a lot of research in many different things.  One of the things I also do a lot with is a garden.  I have a garden that is 32 x 54 ft in size.  I also have several fruit trees and bushes as well around the yard. Of course, for those who know me, I also work extensively on or with computers.  I'm either building or fixing something for someone.  With technology always changing, there is always something more to learn.

I am currently not work as of the writing of this update. I hope to find a great job that can stay with me for years to come.  A chance to finally do something better, and to better myself and others   I have done many things over the years.  Computers, flight simulators/electronics, Airfield Management/Customer Servive/Air Force,  printing press and other machines.  You can find more on this on my Resume page.

Throughout the years I have lived in many places. I was born in Hannibal, Missouri on March 10, 1962.  I have spent time in at   7 states and the territory of Guam. I spent 10 years in the Air Force. I have learned many lessons over the years. I have truly learned through trial by fire. I have been through adversity.  I've lost everything and come out the otherside better in many ways.  Life is a growing experience.

I have enjoyed doing many things over the years. Let me give you a big list: Reading, some writing, bicycling, flying, kite flying, scuba diving, computers, hiking, plants/gardening, roses, canoeing, music, ham radio, horseback riding, etc. What can I say, I like to try new things.

Where am I going?  I have found that I am very good with computers.  Over the years, I have built many (from component level to board level).  I've run several operating systems including: Amiga, Dos, Windows, a little Mac, and some Linux.   Now I am learning to program.  I have always know that I could write, but I actually did a Manual in college and realized I could do that as well.  In my previous job, I was able to put together a wiki for the company to use  in technical support.  It allowed us to find information quicker.  The key is keeping it updated. I am getting to be pretty well rounded.  I have done a lot of customer service related work both in the Air Force and in my technical support role.

That’s me in a nutshell! :-)  This is really just a small part.  I am ready to move on to better and brighter opportunities.   What do you think?  I really could write a book!
